about the designer

Lila John was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. She has always been fascinated by colors, art and clothes. With the idea in mind to become a costume designer for movies Lila started an education that gave her the technical knowledge and skills of constructing garments. Driven by the desire to explore more the creative universe of fashion she applied at the university of applied arts in vienna. She studied there under the artistic term of Bernhard Willhelm and graduated in 2016 under Hussein Chalayan. 

Love and work made Lila move to Belgium, were she worked for the fashion label “Pelican Avenue” and “Peter Pilotto”. With a longing to realize bold, casual and sustainable street wear Lila decided to launch her own label in 2019.

Next to her own fashion brand, Lila enjoys to work in collaboration with choreographers and performers. In the last years she created outfits for productions of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Michiel Vandevelde and Radouan Mriziga.
